welcome to my blog! For those of you who know me and have come here on purpose, i hope you enjoy your time here! and for those who have accidentally stumbled across this blog, WELCOME!!!!! i hope you have a jolly good time! ...i guess ^^' this, if you haven't yet gathered, is about my adventures in fashion XD my goal is to become a fashion photographer for an avant garde magazine in japan such as: the Gothic and Lolita Bible (aka the bible), Kera, Kera Maniax, Egg, Popteen, or well, anything really....i'm addicted to japanese fashion XD i myself am more of a gothic lolita, or sweet lolita (depending on my mood) i haven't always been interested in fashion though....it wasn't until i went to japan that i began to become interested in fashion.
i went to japan in 2005/2006. i was, unfortunately stuck in a school uniform for 10 months and i didn't really realize how important clothes were until i wasn't allowed to wear what i wanted. i started to watch what all of the girls were wearing. then my epiphany came. one night my host brother was watching "shimotsuma monogatari," or better known here in america as "kamikaze girls." when i saw Momoko Ryugasaki's cute pink frilly baby the stars shine bright lolita dress i was smitten!!!! i stared at the screen with my mouth hanging wide open, drool at the magic of lolita and momoko's rococo ways. my host brother just laughed at me, but he had no idea what he had introduced me to!! from then on i was on the prowl for all things lolita, elegant gothic lolita (EGL) , goth and anything advant garde!! unfortunately, where i lived, there was nothing....i rarely came across copies of the bible, and i had to travel 2 hours by bus to get kera....truly depressing.....TT^TT but i always ended up getting my fix!
back at home, i started watching shows such as america's next top model, project runway and the style network. i started subscribing to magazines such as vogue and harper's baazar. then i found the art section of barns and noble and the joys of online book sales! YAY AMAZON.COM!!! i've even found some awesome deals on e-bay! i now have quite the collection of japanese fashion books, magazines, books on nationally known fashion designers, chinese fashion and books on just people. one of my favorites is the book my sister bought me called "the spirit of tibet" which just looks at the people of tibet. it made me realize that i really want to travel, and i really want to take pictures!!! which i was never really into until i went to japan....well more so after i got back^^' but that's beside the point ^^' anyways~~
my dad suggested i start this blog to document my adventures in entering the fashion world, to share my knowledge and love of fashion, and to hopefully get my feet wet^^ so i hope that those of you who are reading this decide to follow along, or even imput some of you knowledge! i'm love learning new things!! i believe that the day you stop learning is the day you stop living~ so share your knowledge and i share mine~~~~
much love~ momo-chan!
