a new cut and colour

Hey everyone!! So i did something that i didn't really expect to do^^' I went to the salon to get my hair re-coloured (it had faded from a really dark red to a really lite red) and to get a trim. The next think i knew i had my hair a lovely shade of violet-red or kinda like eggplant purple red (does that make sense??? eggplant purple red??? hahahahaa is that even a colour??? hahahaha well it is now!!!), and i had cut my long curly lolita like locks off!!!! When my beautician was applying my awesome hair colour, i realized "WOW is my hair heavy!!!" Then she started washing my hair and i realized that i have had my hair long for a really long time!!!! she sat me back down in my chair and she was like, "okay so we'll cut like an inch off right?" and before i knew what i was saying i told her "nah...how about like 4?" So now instead of having long curly purple red hair that everyone loved to a really short mod cut! I mean...don't get me wrong, i LOVE my new cute cut and style (though my mom keeps calling me the little dutch boy....^^') it's just....not really lolita anymore! it's more like mod punk^^ which is totally okay~ cause i can totally rock that style too!!! Don't worry ladies and possible gents (that would be you dad ^^) i'll show you my new hair awesomeness!!!! ...i just have to take a picture of it first~~ lol!!

hehehehee i now have this new love of wearing a ton of rings like nana kitade! she usually wears a ton of rings on all of her fingers. They are all really fun rings!! Everyone i meet is like "oh wow! those are some cool rings!!" which makes me feel really good! i've never really worn rings, and now i love them to pieces!!! it's just really hard to find rings that'll fit my really REALLY small fingers.....my pinkies are a size 1 1/2!! i mean really!!! what kind of size is that!?!?!?!!? Even finding a size 5 for my ring fingers is really hard!!!! my right ring finger is a little bit bigger than a 5, but my left ring finger is like a 4 3/4!?!?!?!?! Silly fingers!!!!!!!! XP (That's my tongue sticking out just so you know^^)

Well that's it for now!! i start school in a few days and i have to pack my entire room up! hopefully i can find some awesome fashion at my new school that i can post on here~ i just hope my camera decides to work....it hasn't been lately....TT^TT oh well~~ wish me luck!!!!

much hugs~~~

Another Follower??

Hello blog followers? If there are any ^^' lol! well, that's beside the point! this is mostly just for me anyways! If anyone really reads this, other than family, I'll be really surprised! ANYWAYS!!!! Last weekend i lent my friend Jessica from work some of my japanese fashion magazines to read on her trip to Mincoqua. She didn't know about japanese fashion, and when i told her that that's what i wanted to do with the rest of my life she was totally interested in seeing some Gothic Lolita fashion! So i went through ALL of my magazines and picked out three of my favorites....it was hard to give them to her for fear of separation and what would happen when they were gone...but...i trust her^^'...I gave her my favorite issue of the Gothic Lolita Bible, my newest issue of Kera, and my Gothic and Lolita look book by Phaidon. i thought these were the best examples of Japanese fashion that i had. I even put little notes between the pages warning her that if she lost, or damaged them, i'd slit her throat. A week later i got them back!!!! (in one piece thank GOD!!!) Tucking in one of the pages was a note thanking me for showing her the awesomeness that is the lolita fashion!! if i could have done backflips, i would have!! lol! She absolutely loved it!!! I was so glad that i was able to turn her onto something that i love, which a lot of people have so far thought was just plain weird. she even wants me to send her copies of whichever magazine i work for to her so she can read them!!! I'm so honored!!!

Anyways~~~ The picture at the top of the page is a lolita dress from one of my favorite brands Baby the Stars Shine Bright. (better known as Baby...it's easier to say~ lol)I just thought it was cute, and i wanted to share it with you~ Yay! Gosh i wish i could sew!!!! or i wish i had money so i could buy some lolita!!! it's 10X more expensive to ship it to america than to actually go to japan and buy it TT^TT (<----that is a sobbing face just so you know ^^(<--happy face just so you know!)) I can't wait to study abroad again in japan!!! (i'll get into the first time i was there in a later blog k?) I'm totally going to do either a semester or a year abroad in japan once i learn some more japanese in school!!! I'm working really hard at it!!!! I really want to just blend in with japanese fashion!!! Right now it's my dream!! Well i guess that's it for now...my allergy meds are kicking in and i can't see straight anymore ^^' (<---sweaty drop face) best wishes and candy dreams!! ~momo

greetings~~

welcome to my blog! For those of you who know me and have come here on purpose, i hope you enjoy your time here! and for those who have accidentally stumbled across this blog, WELCOME!!!!! i hope you have a jolly good time! ...i guess ^^' this, if you haven't yet gathered, is about my adventures in fashion XD my goal is to become a fashion photographer for an avant garde magazine in japan such as: the Gothic and Lolita Bible (aka the bible), Kera, Kera Maniax, Egg, Popteen, or well, anything really....i'm addicted to japanese fashion XD i myself am more of a gothic lolita, or sweet lolita (depending on my mood) i haven't always been interested in fashion though....it wasn't until i went to japan that i began to become interested in fashion.

i went to japan in 2005/2006. i was, unfortunately stuck in a school uniform for 10 months and i didn't really realize how important clothes were until i wasn't allowed to wear what i wanted. i started to watch what all of the girls were wearing. then my epiphany came. one night my host brother was watching "shimotsuma monogatari," or better known here in america as "kamikaze girls." when i saw Momoko Ryugasaki's cute pink frilly baby the stars shine bright lolita dress i was smitten!!!! i stared at the screen with my mouth hanging wide open, drool at the magic of lolita and momoko's rococo ways. my host brother just laughed at me, but he had no idea what he had introduced me to!! from then on i was on the prowl for all things lolita, elegant gothic lolita (EGL) , goth and anything advant garde!! unfortunately, where i lived, there was nothing....i rarely came across copies of the bible, and i had to travel 2 hours by bus to get kera....truly depressing.....TT^TT but i always ended up getting my fix!

back at home, i started watching shows such as america's next top model, project runway and the style network. i started subscribing to magazines such as vogue and harper's baazar. then i found the art section of barns and noble and the joys of online book sales! YAY AMAZON.COM!!! i've even found some awesome deals on e-bay! i now have quite the collection of japanese fashion books, magazines, books on nationally known fashion designers, chinese fashion and books on just people. one of my favorites is the book my sister bought me called "the spirit of tibet" which just looks at the people of tibet. it made me realize that i really want to travel, and i really want to take pictures!!! which i was never really into until i went to japan....well more so after i got back^^' but that's beside the point ^^' anyways~~

my dad suggested i start this blog to document my adventures in entering the fashion world, to share my knowledge and love of fashion, and to hopefully get my feet wet^^ so i hope that those of you who are reading this decide to follow along, or even imput some of you knowledge! i'm love learning new things!! i believe that the day you stop learning is the day you stop living~ so share your knowledge and i share mine~~~~

much love~ momo-chan!
